What the petition asks
Young people will have to deal with the consequences of leaving the EU much more than the old, in terms of years of life with this change. Young people had a majority for remain whereas the old voted to leave. Overall, the young are going to have to live with something they didn't want for longer.
<40 = majority remain.
>40 = majority leave.
>40 = majority leave.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
It's not clear how this could be done. Voting in the UK is anonymous. It is not therefore possible to work out which votes were cast by young people.
