Make the vote for next Prime Minister open to everyone, not just Conservatives

Rejected 19 signatures

What the petition asks

David Cameron has resigns so now what?
1) Conservative MPs elect two candidates.
2) A postal ballot will be sent out to all Conservative party members.
The winner of this vote is the next PM. That means that 149,800 Tory activists, 0.002% of the population, will choose the next leader of the UK.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We cannot accept petitions about party political matters. The Conservative Party alone is responsible for choosing its next leader. You can share your thoughts with the Conservative Party by contacting them here: https://www.conservatives.com/contact
