Petition · past parliament

A change of Prime Minister should trigger a General Election.

Rejected 18 signatures

What the petition asks

150,000 members of the Conservative Party will shortly choose a new Prime Minister without the public having a say. In 2007 internal Labour Party politics similarly led to Gordin Brown becoming Prime Minister without a public vote.

A Prime Minister should be required to hold a public mandate.
