What we need now is for the transition to go so well that people can rally together as the UK and move forwards. Starting now.

Come on, government - Set out a strategy. define some measures, demonstrate in a year or two's time that things are Getting Better (tm)
Some possible Good things to do in the short and medium term:

- A Bank Holiday for this Independence Day - So that we remember.
- Big cash injection for the NHS - It needs it.
- A reduction in crazy Austerity - We've just saved 350m a week, right?
- A New Deal for Education, Housing and Food - No-one in the UK should be homeless, or hungry.
- Investment in Science and Academia to encourage others
