Delay invoking article 50 until after a public enquiry into the EU referendum

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

A historic decision has been taken on behalf of the British public, many of whom are now questioning whether or not they have been misled by the claims, arguments and evidence used by the leave campaign. The obvious implication of the infamous "battle bus" slogan being an obvious example.
Due to the complexity and uncertainty surrounding the issues involved, much of the campaigning was reduced to hastags. The decision has far reaching implications, so it is important that those who voted out were not misled.

A public enquiry or other form of independent investigation into the validity of statements made by the leave campaign should be conducted prior to committing to this irreversible path.
