Ban the export of live farmed animals

What the petition asks
Since we have now decided rightly or wrongly to leave the EU, we the undersigned believe that the UK should demonstrate that we care about animal welfare and ban the export of live farmed animals.
In response to a prior petition, (Live Transport of Farmed Animals) the authorities stated that "To ban the trade . . . would be illegal and would undermine the principle of the free-movement of goods enshrined in the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union."
We, the undersigned, do not believe that animals are "goods" and would like the Government to stop farmed animals raised in the UK from being sent overseas.
