What the petition asks

UK residents who are EU nationals are now worried about what will happen to them and whether they'll be able to stay and work in the UK having set up businesses, lives and created jobs here.
Clarify the situation and confirm that EU nationals will maintain their right to remain & work in the UK

The Vienna Treaty in theory covers this by protecting all rights given to somebody by a treaty after that treaty is cancelled. Clarification that this would apply would allieviate the worries of EU nationals who have settled in the UK.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

Allow EU citizens to remain in the UK after exit from the EU with same rights
