What the petition asks
All Leave voting MEPs should now resign their posts. They have no role to play in the negotiations between the EU and the U.K. as these take place in the Commission. The final vote in the EU Parliament would not include them and it would save taxpayers' money from being spent on their salaries.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
