What the petition asks
The public are protected against misleading, harmful or offensive advertisements, sales promotions and direct marketing by regulation.
Since 1999 this protection has excluded political adverts. Political campaigns are free to mislead and lie in ads without consequence.

I believe the British public deserve to be protected from being mislead in adverts by political campaigns in the same way they are protected from being misled in advertising from unscrupulous companies.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
