Suspend invoking Article 50 of Lisbon Treaty until a General Election.

Rejected 18 signatures

What the petition asks

We the undersigned call upon HM Government (and parliament) to suspend invoking of Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty until a General Election has been held and a clear mandate is given to a new Prime Minister and the government by the majority of the UK electorate.
The recent referendum has been fought on misleading information being provided by both the Leave and Remain campaigns. It would be wholly undemocratic if promises made or claims made by the winning side are not fulfilled and results in decisions being made that affect the UK electorate now and in the future.
