Petition · past parliament

Hold a General Election in 2016 in light of the UK's Vote to Leave the EU.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

As the UK has voted to leave the European Union and the Prime Minister has resigned. Parliment should dissolve itself at the earliest opportunity and hold a General Election.

The Prime Ministers replacement will have no mandate from the electorate to negotiate our future relationship with the EU.
I urge MPs of all sides to repeal the fixed term Parliment Act and dissolve Parliment early and hold a General Election before the end of 2016, to give the public a direct say in its desires for our future relationship with he EU.

The Prime Minister's replacement will have no mandate from the electorate as a whole to negotiate on it's behalf the UK's future relationship with the EU.
