Launch an inquiry into EU membership referendum campaigns

What the petition asks
The EU referendum campaign has been characterised by deliberate misinformation, scaremongering and confusion, on both sides.
We must hold politicians, official campaigners and major media organisations accountable for their irresponsible activity, contemptuous manner, and mistakes.
We must hold politicians, official campaigners and major media organisations accountable for their irresponsible activity, contemptuous manner, and mistakes.
Regardless what side you were on, accusations of patronising, insulting and innacurate campaigning have been almost universal.
This is not okay.
An independent inquiry must determine if there was any deliberate attempt to mislead the public about the outcome of the referendum, and if proven we must hold our leaders to account for this, and take steps to make sure nothing like it happens again.
