Petition · past parliament

Government instruction: Repeal the European Communities Act 1972 immediately.

Rejected 20 signatures

What the petition asks

This Act of Parliament (ECA 1972) is the mechanism by which the United Kingdom incorporates European Union Law (formerly EC Law) into all UK Statutes and is the means by which European Law usurps United Kingdom Statutes, where they are at odds, undermining the sovereignty and democracy of the UK.
Our current PM has announced his decision to resign following the result of the UK's referendum on membership of the European Union, citing that he will NOT Invoke Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty (to effect negotiations on our withdrawal from the EU) preferring to leave that job to his replacement....thus delaying the start of withdrawal negotiations until at least early October 2016. The people of the United Kingdom have voted to LEAVE the European Union - their will needs enacting promptly.
