Demand resignation of Labour MP David Lammy for anti-democratic views

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

David Lammy wants to ignore the view of the majority of the UK and therefore change the UK from a democratic society. Please read his statement in media

David Lammy has called on Parliament to defy the result of Britain's EU referendum.

The Labour MP for Tottenham called on fellow politicians to "stop this madness".

He said in a statement: "Wake up. We do not have to do this. We can stop this madness and bring this nightmare to an end through a vote in Parliament. Our sovereign Parliament needs to now vote on whether we should exit the EU.

"The referendum was an advisory, non-binding referendum.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The UK Government and Parliament are not responsible for removing MPs from office because of their views or opinions.
