Petition · past parliament
Northern Ireland to remain in the European Union.
Rejected
18 signatures
What the petition asks
As the majority of citizens in Northern Ireland have voted to remain in the EU referendum. We call upon the HM government to include a special negotiated settlement for Northern Ireland to remain in the European Union, once article 50 of the Lisbon treaty is activated to exit.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The outcome of any negotiations with the EU would not solely be the responsibility of the UK Government. You may wish to start another petition proposing that the UK Government negotiates on the basis of trying to secure a special settlement for Northern Ireland.
