Hold referendum on whether UK should remain in the European Economic Area (EEA)

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

This referendum will show our politicians what the British people want from the Brexit negotiation with the EU. The UK is currently part of the EEA which also includes other non-EU countries such as Norway. This referendum should be as binding as the 23 June referendum on UK membership of the EU
The European Economic Area (EEA) includes all EU countries plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. The focus of the EEA is primarily trade. Whether or not Britain remains in the EEA will be discussed as part of the Brexit negotiations and it is important that the British people let our politicians know the extent to which they are prepared to let them limit UK trading opportunities with other Eurppean countries.
