What the petition asks
On the behalf of Democracy, we demand the immediate and unconditional resignation of Rt Hon David Lammy MP based on his wholly undemocratic and dangerously irresponsible public recommendations made in relation to the result of the EU referendum, namely that parliament should overrule the electorate.
Whilst we are a free country and have no restrictions on free speech, as an MP such public statements should be made with the potential effects in mind. The statement made suggests the MP has little or no understanding of what a democracy is and more importantly how such an entity operates. This lack of understanding leaves no alternative aside a resignation.
