What the petition asks
The EU referendum result is not binding. The result was marginal - given the severity of its implications. The ramifications on the UK and indeed globally were instant. A Brexit vote won on misleading/inaccurate promises is a sham. Therefore formal departure from the EU should be prevented.
Where the UK stands now that we have voted to leave:
1. Markets fell instantly
2.The Bank of England was forced to step in to calm markets
3. Warning that UK's credit rating will drop from AAA rating.
4. Nigel Farage retracted his statement that leaving the UK would save £350m a week which could be used to support the nhs.
5. Immigration levels will not drop
6. We cannot remain part of the single market as stated during campaigning.
