Acknowledge false information contributed to Leave victory in EU referendum
Rejected
19 signatures
What the petition asks
The untrue £350million/week EU membership fee figure was strongly advertised by Vote Leave. The Leave campaign won by a narrow margin, and if 1 in 25 of their supporters voted based off of this fallacy then the result of the referendum cannot be considered the definitive will of the British people.
Leave won by 634,751 votes, this makes up 3.65% of their 17,410,742 votes. Rounding up to 4% one arrives at 1 in 25.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
