What the petition asks
I am calling on HMG to trigger Article 50 of the Lisbon treaty, this was promised by the Prime Minster David Cameron for the day after a vote to leave.
He has since retracted this statement leaving the UK and the EU in a state of uncertainty, we need to move quickly to the negotiating table

The Prime Minister’s spokeswoman said “a vote to leave is a vote to leave” and that Article 50 would be triggered immediately if the referendum vote were for Leave. This was confirmed by David Cameron in the House of Commons, adding that Article 50 is the only way to leave.
