There shall be a General Election before invoking Article50 of the Lisbon Treaty

Rejected 20 signatures

What the petition asks

It is only now that the Referendum on the UK's continuing membership of the European Union has closed that it is becoming clear that the campaign to Leave was substantially based on lies and misinformation. This discredits the results.
Advocates of 'Leave' had no policy positions on which a reasonable decision could be made on leaving the EU. Now that a presumptive decision has been made, the parties need to either put forward their actual policies in respect of immigration, tax, the NHS in the event of the UK leaving the EU, or state a clear position NOT to leave the European Union, and to stand for election on that basis.
