Make it a criminal offence for MPs to make untrue statements for political gain

Rejected 18 signatures

What the petition asks

In the recent referendum politicians blatantly made untrue and misrepresented with statements like money to NHS, immigration, and debunked financial scaremongering so that they could elicit votes on statements reversed within 24 hours of the result. This should be a criminal offence.
£350m to the NHS that after the vote it is said will not happen. They advertised this on busses.

Immigration, this has caused multiple racial hatred events across the country. People were duped to believe we would deport foreigners with statements like 'get our country back'

They made multiple statements that the economists were scaremongering, even though they admit they knew our currency would devalue and millions would be wiped off of the value of our companies.
