What the petition asks
In the Brexit referendum on 24.06.16, British citizens living as ex-pats in the EU for over 15 years were not allowed to participate, although many will be directly affected by the decision in many ways, eg. family in UK, work permits/visas, savings/pensions in the UK, etc. Expats are Brits too!
