Research & Innovation helps drive our economy. Collaboration with international partners is essential to maintain the world-leading standard of UK research. The UK has been one of the top beneficiaries from EU research and innovation framework funding programmes, enabling this activity.

Leaving the EU will jeopardise this support to quality and quantity of UK research. The UK share of this fund should be protected for use for this purpose going forward. Mechanisms most appropriate to the political situation will take time to clarify, yet the commitment to support this area of economic growth-driving should be made now.
