What the petition asks
If you're not white British, or at least don't look it, you have probably had people shout horrible things to you. We need to stop this in its tracks, before it gets physical and we have people's houses broke into or beaten on the street.Sign the petition the have police act on these crimes.
All over social media people are reporting abuse being shouted at them or others. Abuse that is racist, nasty, and illegal.
Before this hate becomes physical, and people get hurt, we should put a stop to it.

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
This is the responsibility of local police forces, not the Government or Parliament. If you would like Parliament to give the police more resources to deal with these kinds of crimes, or to change the law to create new criminal offences related to racist behaviours, you could start a new petition calling for that.
