Invoke Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty without delay

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

It is now vital that the EU referendum result be put into action, enabling politicians to unite in securing a new settlement for the UK.

We therefore call upon the Prime Minister to notify the European Council of the UK's intention to withdraw from the EU, and to do so as soon as practicable.
'Remain' and 'Leave' voters alike condemn attempts by various MPs and activists to exploit the current ambiguity regarding EU membership withdrawal for party-political gain, by pledging to either ignore or subvert the democratic process. Prolonging this uncertainty can only harm the UK.

We ask the Prime Minister, in an act of statesmanship, to remove all doubt as to the referendum's consequences, thus enabling Parliament to unite in the task of making arrangements for the country's future.
