Petition · past parliament

Keep Britain in the EU. Keep David Cameron as leader.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

We the undersigned call upon HM Government to have a second referendum for the EU membership and David Cameron should remain as leader moving forward even beyond the party conference in October, following a remain result.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The resignation of an individual Minister, including the Prime Minister, is not a decision for the Government or Parliament as a whole. It is a decision for the individual concerned. The UK Government or Parliament cannot stop a Minister resigning.

We already have a petition open calling for a second referendum: Call for a second EU referendum as the first did not have a clear mandate.
