What the petition asks
Due to irresponsible statements made by both sides during the referendum campaign, there are many worries & fears for example that EU citizens living and working in the UK or at school here, will have to immediately pack up and leave.
We are calling for a joint statement to reassure the public.
We are calling for a joint statement to reassure the public.
It would assist if, on the day of the statement, politicians could refrain from resigning, working on leadership elections etc so that the news cycle is not faced with competing stories.
(The statement can include condemnation of recent racial attacks but there was not space in the word limit to call for it).

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
This petition calls for action from groups other than the Government and Parliament.
