Petition · past parliament

Open the conservative leadership election to the wider electorate.

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

We are about to leave the European union which means we have to negotiate trade agreements and what they require with each EU nation.

We need a leader we can all get behind, we the undersigned request that the conservatives open voting to the wider electorate so everyone can be represented.
This is an unprecedented situation and what is required is a cross-party effort to represent the entirety of the United Kingdom. We need to be able to vote for the one who will start this process.

However the conservative parliament has started moving towards ensuring new entrants to the party are unable to vote for this person. This is unacceptable in this unique situation.
