Petition · past parliament

Parliament to set aside the advisory and non-binding EU referendum result.

Rejected 20 signatures

What the petition asks

The existing petition 'EU Referendum Rules triggering a 2nd EU Referendum' could be ignored on a technicality (the referendum is already over), but parliament needs to act in the interests of the country.
We do not want a crippled economy, or to send a message that we are an isolationist nation.
Farage told the Mirror: “In a 52-48 referendum this would be unfinished business by a long way. If the remain campaign win two-thirds to one-third that ends it.”

All the main claims of the Leave campaign have been shown to be false/misleading (see resources like the BBC 'More or Less' program) to a far greater extent than those of Remain.

Parliament should act responsibly and disregard a marginal referendum result caused by misinformation.
