Adopt a Proportional Representation (PR) Model for General Elections in the UK
Rejected

What the petition asks
People are not feeling listened to by Government. It would be fair and just for representation in matters of UK governance to be more directly placed in the hands of voters. Seats in parliament therefore should reflect the national number of voters supporting a party.
People are angry that their concerns about poverty, the NHS, and immigration are ignored or turned into 'point scoring' exercises by politicians who don't keep promises. FPTP and the arrangement of constituencies means national minorities can end up with parliamentary majorities. This is not sufficiently democratic.
