Hold a general election in the light of the UK EU Referendum result
Rejected

What the petition asks
In the light of the Referendum result to leave the EU, we urge The House of Commons to call for an immediate election to debate and discuss the future of the UK.
While a narrow majority have voted for the country to leave the EU, it is still unclear what direction the nation should take in response to this. As the referendum is only advisory and not binding in our constitution, we now need to debate this properly. There are a variety of options open to us and it is time to put these to the electorate. For this we need a general election as soon as possible.
