What the petition asks

Since the 1997 handover the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) has been eroding the freedoms and rights of the people of Hong Kong, which is in breach of the terms which would protect Hong Kong till 2047 and the U.K. government has a legal responsibility to up hold the terms of the treaty.

There has been many indications that Hong Kong does not support the CCP; from the umbrella movement, the online poll in 2013 suggesting 9 out of 10 Hongkongers prefer British Rule or anti-Chinese parties and pundits.
