What the petition asks
David Cameron has resigned as Leader of the Conservative Party effective October 2016, meaning when a new Leader of the Conservative Party takes over we will have a new Prime Minster.
In the event of any leader resigning or vacating the position of leader of the governing party, there should be a new General Election. The party can elect their leader and then we will elect the party based on the circumstances presented to us in a democratic way.
