Ensure Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty is not invoked through Prerogative power
Rejected
10 signatures
What the petition asks
Article 50 requires that it is invoked through the UK’s constitutional requirements. Prerogative cannot be used to take away rights under the European Communities Act 1972. Before it can invoke Article 50, Government must be empowered by act of Parliament. No such power was given by the ERA 2015.
