What the petition asks
After being given the choice of remaining or leaving the EU in the recent referendum, it is only proper that the people of the UK should have the right to choose what type of relationship they want with the EU so that the government has better guidance in its negotiations.
The main alternatives to membership in the EU are set out in the Cabinet Office's policy paper "Alternatives to membership: possible models for the United Kingdom outside the European Union, dated 2 March 2016. Remaining in the EU should be one of the choices in case people do not like the alternatives. The choices should be:
1) Be a member of the European Economic Area
2) Negotiate a bilateral agreement with the EU
3) Be a member of the World Trade Organisation
4) Remain a member of the EU
