Petition · past parliament

Hold back article 50 until police investigation of 2015 election completed.

Rejected 14 signatures

What the petition asks

Several Conservative MP's are being investigated for electoral expenses fraud which potentially could alter the result of the election and therefore possibly invalidate the calling of a referendum on Britain's membership of the EU. I understand that police have asked for a further 12 months
There are many references in the public domain about the police investigation which can easily be found on the internet. Several forces have asked for a further 12 months to complete the investigation. If the Conservative majority was invalid then possibly the calling of a referendum was not valid and we should have another general election before considering invoking article 50 to leave the EU.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

It's not clear what 2015 general election expenses have to do with the 2016 EU referendum. If you want a second referendum, you could sign this petition:

Call for a second EU referendum as the first did not have a clear mandate.

If you want the EU referendum to be declared null and void, you could sign this petition:

Declare the result of the EU referendum null & void.
