Increase pay of Dental Nurses

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

Dental Nurses on average are only being paid £8.50/hour. We spend the best part of 18 months training for our qualification and on top of that need to do cpd as well as pay to be on the GDC register (to what benefit to us?) at £116/year as well as now having to have our own Indemnity Insurance.
We don't get paid enough for the job we do nor the constant financial strain being in the job puts on us all - not to mention if we want to better ourselves by doing further
We should be banded like general nurses with pay being dependant upon number of years in the job and experience.
We make less than 1/3 what dental hygienists/therapists earn yet our outlays are the same. It is not fair. Please increase our pay to reflect our daily hard work!!!

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The level of pay for dental nurses who are not employees of the NHS is a matter for the businesses that employs them.

If you want the UK Government to increase the pay of NHS Dental Nurses, we could accept a petition on that.
