Make gerrymandering illegal, it prevents true democracy.

What the petition asks
On occasion there may be good reason to shift constituency boundaries. To do so with the express purpose of preventing the party in power being voted out democratically should be illegal as it prevents democracy working fairly and should be neither legal nor acceptable as a political strategy.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Boundary reviews in the UK are conducted by independent, impartial bodies. If you would like there to be a specific change to the process by which constituency boundaries are changed, you could start a new petition asking for that.
