What the petition asks
More than 68,000 people have been killed in the uprising and the subsequent Indian military crackdown in Indian administered Kashmir. In the current wave of unrest since 08/07/16 more then 20 protestors have died and more then 200 injured by the crakdown of Indian forces including army and police.
The dispute of Kashmir started after the departure of British rule from the region and leaving the state of Kashmir to decide its fate. The Maharaja of Kashmir decided to merge with India against people's wishes. People's demand is a plebiscite to decide their own fate, which India has been denying. There is over 200,000 thousand Indian armed forces besides police and other security personnel to keep a tight control on the region by might. More than 68,000 people have been killed in the uprising since and the subsequent Indian military crackdown in Indian administered Kashmir.
