What the petition asks
Tennants with children are finding it increasingly difficult to rent a suitable, 2 bedroom property. Landlords and agents are using the unfair excuse that children cause extra wear on the property, yet a deposit is still taken to cover damages. It is leaving young families in difficult situations
My partner and I are currently facing homelessness after being served a section 21 on our flat. The landlord has decided to renovate the property, but will not allow children in it once it is finished.
While searching for a new place for us to live, we are consistently met with the "No pets, No Children" statement.Like our daughter is as low as a dog! We live in an expensive area and are struggling to find suitable properties that allow children.
I have contacted numerous agents and no differ.
