What the petition asks
The NEC has decided to charge members of the Labour Party who joined after February 2016 £25 to exercise their democratic right to vote for their preferred leadership candidate. This is an outrage and an affront to democracy. Give back this vote to everyone who earned it by joining the Labour Party.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Procedures for electing the leader of a political party are a matter for the party concerned, not the Government or Parliament.
