What the petition asks
The Kashmir dispute has not been resolved for over 7 decades. In recent days, we have seen further Indian atrocities committed against the people of Kashmir leaving many dead. The UK government must play its role in pressuring the Indian government to halt its hostilities and to reach a resolution.
We petition the UK government to:
1) Pressurise the Indian government to halt its hostilities in Indian occupied Kashmir, against the people of Kashmir.
2) Play an active diplomatic role to reach a peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
3) Ensure, through diplomacy, that the UN Resolutions regarding a free and fair referendum in Kashmir are enforced. Thus, the people of Kashmir may exercise self-determination once and for all without the influence of any State in/out of the region.
