What the petition asks
Something I have witnessed not only as a Healthcare Assistant but also as a student nurse is the increasing number of patients a Staff Nurse is being forced to care for. The government need to recognise this is wrong and jeopardising patient safety! Make the legal limit 1 Nurse: 8 Patients.
I'm a student nurse who is looking to work for the NHS once I qualify, however, this growing number of patients that Nurses are being made to look after TERRIFIES me!
There needs to be a limit put in place to safeguard Nurses and patients. It isn't safe to have up to 12 patients to 1 Nurse.
Avoidable mistakes are being made daily on wards due to low levels of staffing!
Imagine it was your mother, father, nan or grandad who was admitted to hospital where the Nurse can't give them the best care
