What the petition asks
We the undersigned call upon HM Government to exempt supported housing from any cap on housing benefit.
Proposals to cap housing benefit for supported housing jeopardises the future of this essential accommodation, which provides a home for the country’s most vulnerable citizens including:
• frail elderly people
• young people leaving care
• women fleeing domestic violence
• people recovering from alcohol and substance misuse
• people with mental health issues
• people with physical and/or learning disabilities
• former military servicemen and women
