What the petition asks
There is an inconsistent approach to advice, care and support given to BRCA women and men across the UK. Women and men are being diagnosed with cancer every day when it could have been prevented. Let's make this change.
A questionnaire is currently underway to collate the inconsistencies from the health care. But some examples so far are;
1. Surveillance options for breast and Ovarian Cancer varies (available in some areas)
2. Assigned geneticists
3. Inconsistent advice for BSO
4. Availability of PGD / IVF
5. Waiting times to see the breast surgeons
6. Availability of testing
These are some. I am BRCA1 positive, Ambassador for BRCA Umbrella and Voice for OCA. I see it every day and it needs changing.
