What the petition asks
The NHS spend over £23M per year on providing translation services - that's around £63,000 per day !! That money could and should be spent on equipment/services that benefit everyone instead of a small minority.
Translation services that are required should be paid for by the person requiring the services, their friends, family or privately funded migrant support groups.
Implementing this change get will not only reduce expenditure on non medical NHS funding but also provide an additional incentive for migrants to learn English and assimilate into UK society.
