Scrap the UK honours system

Closed 102 signatures

What the petition asks

The honours system is anachronistic and irrelevant cronyism. It is a largely elite structure rewarding randomly selected people who are merely doing their job (often badly). If it is replaced at all it should be by a people's panel recognising only public service and sacrifice.
Examples too numerous to list, going back decades. The latest examples include Philip Green's peerage and David Cameron's resignation list.
