What the petition asks
Given the food security crisis caused to the UK any Member supporting the use of Article 50 of the Treaty of Lisbon should spend a day a week digging to plant, tend and harvest potatoes.
The UK produces only 54% of its food requirements. The sundering of our trade and free movement with the European Union, and the depreciation of Sterling, creates a food security crisis. This is a practical way of deploying surplus unskilled labour.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
