Damien Nettles went missing 20 years ago. We would like his case re-investigated

Rejected 18 signatures

What the petition asks

Damien Nettles was 16 years old when he went missing on Isle of Wight 20 years ago. BBC3 recently ran an eight part documentary "Unsolved - The Boy Who Disappeared". There are many flaws in the case and people are not coming forward. We would like this case reinvestigated for closure for his family

His mother, Mrs Valeries Greenalgh Nettles appealed to the IPCC in 2005 who referred the case back to Hampshire Police. Unfortunately, this has not been forthcoming. We would therefore request this is discussed in parliament for a fresh investigation to locate Damien's remains, justice brought and for his family to give him a dignified burial, offering peace and closure.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Reopening the Damien Nettles case would be an operational decision for the local police force. This is not something for which the UK Government or Parliament is responsible.
